Beacon Clearance - Toolhead Development

Milled Copper Block

It appears that with the relocated thermistor, we can reduce the Beacon Y-offset from 18mm to 15mm, which means that rear lead screw clearance is possible, but only in the rear no-protrusion mode. This isn’t a big deal, since the nozzle position is very rear-biased, and there’s plenty of overtravel. I’m glad that there will be an alternative to lowering/cutting rear lead screws.

Other Beacon-related changes:

  • Surface modeled mount that’s less prone to warping
  • Nicer strain relief and zip-tie anchors
  • Heatshield for the cable next to the block
  • Different cable routing, hopefully between the stepper and the duct
