Build Log 5 - Monolith Zero Development
Aside from the alignment and the Z-endstop, the Z-motion is almost done at this point. Before installing the 5mm thick bed holder, I realized that it would be such a QoL improvement if I made enough clearance for the MGN7H carriages to get past the plate. So, I modified the plate using a file and updated the CAD accordingly.
As for the Z-blocks, I'm still using the printed ones I showed before, but my SLM order is on its way now. The Z stepper mount is printed and needs some heat sets. It will also hold the adjustable endstop.
I printed new front feet, because it was logical to have bottom lead screw bearings in them. It's very easy to align it in the XY plane. There were no surprises with the longer belt and the same tensioner.
I also couldn't resist installing the side panels temporarily to see what the printer will look like.
