Final Mounting - Full Size Chamber Heater

Mounting Chamber Heater

After careful consideration, we’ve finalized the mounting approach for the full-size chamber heater with ducts. Rather than reinventing the wheel, we narrowed the solutions down to two reliable options: either securing the fans directly with screws from the back, or using a laser-cut plate that mounts the fans to the extrusions.

Two plates are available: one for side mounting and one for top/bottom mounting. Depending on your printer and preferred configuration, you can choose either option. Both plates are optimized to minimize material use while still providing two tie-down points for cable-management zip ties.

If you already have the commonly used “spicy meatball” plates, you can still use them. However, they will leave some unused material around the edges, along with extra, unused heater mounting holes.

These adds to the previous configurations, resulting in 5 possible ways to heat up your printer:

  • 100W heater panel mount
  • 100W heater extrusion mount
  • 500W heater panel mount
  • 500W heater fixed gantry mount
  • 500W heater flying gantry mount

We’ll be ordering and testing everything before publishing the files, to verify that manufacturing performs as intended. It's a promising design, and something similar might be tested in the future to better understand its potential.
