LDO kit 2WD to AWD Conversion
In the last 2 years, I've never used 2WD as much as I have recently, and I'm very impressed with its performance. Other than the fine text on the benchy, where the lack of detail is noticeable, I had a difficult time distinguishing it from my AWD prints.
In my case, the frame and the toolhead are sufficiently rigid in both configurations for 50k printing. Less rigid machines might actually benefit from only 2WD, since AWD tends to start ringing at a lower accel in those cases.
This is one of the reasons why it's essential to make the switch between the two as convenient as possible. The 3-piece XY-joint design plays a significant role in this. Once the top is off, it's very easy to flip the smooth and the live-shaft idlers. Swapping the front mounts is self-explanatory. The 20T pulley, some fasteners, and the smooth idler stack are shared between 2WD and AWD, rendering separate kits pointless.
