I've spent the entire day finishing the sheet metal parts for both of my printers. It should be good enough now for a fully functional "all-metal" prototype.

zruncho and I have different takes on the QoL with the sheet metal gantry, so I'll order both sets to see which has better serviceability IRL. It may not even matter in the end, if we do milled gantry group buys or something.

Currently, these are the sheet metal parts:

  • 1 Rear panel
  • 1 Bottom panel
  • 1 Bed plate (20mm adjustment in Y)
  • 1 Electronics panel
  • 2 Side panels
  • 2 Y-rail plates
  • 4 Stepper plates
  • 4 Front gantry plates
  • 4 Rear gantry plates

So 20 parts total, including the gantry. The top and bottom electronics cover will be reused from the V0.
