SLM MGN12H vs LDO kit MGN9H XY-joints
·
·
Last time, I think it wasn't completely clear: the rail sizes here are for the Y-axis. The X-axis in both cases is MGN12H.
Test conditions:
- 300mm flying gantry
- 4040/2040 frame
- 3mm aluminum structural side panels
- 2020 Y-extrusions with 2mm stainless backers
- Double SLM Z-joints
- LDO 2504 S45Rs @2.5A and 36V
- LDO CNC kit motor mounts
- EPDM 10mm belts @20lbs
- Custom lightweight X-rail, Z2 (or even higher) preload
- Carbonara with Ti hardware
- Experimental Monolith Toolhead
- Measured with Beacon at room temperature
- Accel/Hz = 125
- No sweeping
- Same XY joint hardware and motion, where possible
The only difference is the XY joints and Y rails.
(Both of the X-graphs are wider than I'd like, and I have some ideas why that is the case. It's best to dedicate a whole post to that investigation.)
As I emphasized earlier, the overall moving masses between these two configurations are almost identical, which is backed up by the very similar graphs.
