Stepper Insulation - Printed Gantry Tip

Stepper Insulation

Many of us struggle with melted motor mounts, and these spacers can help us get away with higher chamber temps and/or stepper currents without switching to a more exotic filament with a higher HDT. Putting a thermistor on at least one stepper is still recommended. (Look at the second photo.)

Only try these spacers with long-shafted motors AND double-shear!

You'll need longer M3 screws, - and depending on the spacer's thickness - maybe some extra M3 washers not to bottom out the screws.

They're super cheap and come in 5-packs:

  • Cork: Cork spacers are too soft for this application, avoid them.
  • PTFE: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32811492538.html
