The Integrated Handles - Monolith Zero

As promised, we're working on the remaining printed parts. One of the most striking features of the design is definitely the handles.

Since one of our goals is to reduce the parts count, even here, with the handles, we're doing multiple things. Not only does it make the printer aesthetically pleasing, but the printed handles make the grip much more comfortable.

To make working on the electronics easier, we wanted a front skirt that's easy to remove. In hindsight, we should have done the same in the rear as well. It's something to think about for the release.

This got me thinking about how we should secure the electronics cover, preferably without screws and in a way that will prevent any rattling. So I designed a slot into the handles, which has enough compliance to grip the panel, making the slide in and out very satisfying.
