Revisiting the Milled Copper Block

I’ve never actually seen the full potential of my old milled heat block. Back then, we had a limitation with the filament grip. Fortunately, the first toolhead design provides a great platform for testing different hotend blocks and extruder internals. The drive gear mounting is on the belt clamp, which made remixing it for U-groove idler support super easy. The bottom of the heat block is braced by three long screws, which means basically any block of the correct length can fit in this thing.

As part of my fixed gantry rebuild, I will circle back to what we might be missing with the SLM steel blocks with a fair comparison. What I find there can potentially reshape the trajectory of this development.
